How the Tesla referral works in 2026: three months of FSD free, explained by a referrer.

If you order a new Model 3, Model Y, or Cybertruck with my referral, Tesla gives you your first three months of Full Self-Driving free. It costs you nothing. Tesla credits me. That is the whole arrangement, and this page explains every part of it, because I would rather you know exactly how it works than wonder.

What you get

Three months of FSD (Supervised) at no cost on a new Model 3, Model Y, or Cybertruck ordered with a referral. That is a real evaluation window, not a weekend demo. Run it on your actual commute, take it on one real trip, and decide for yourself whether it fits how you drive. After the three months it becomes the normal monthly subscription, which you can cancel or restart whenever you want.

Tesla's program has also given buyers other credits and perks over time. What exactly it hands out changes, so the current terms on Tesla's own referral page are the ones that count, not a number on a page like this.

What I get

Tesla credits me when someone orders with my referral, or books a demo drive through it. They show up as Tesla Credits in my account, which Tesla lets me spend on things like charging and accessories. My stated goal for this site, in plain terms, is enough referral credit a year to cover a repair or a set of tires. That is it. I am an owner sharing my experience, not a reviewer chasing clicks.

Everything on this site is disclosed the same way, on every page: Tesla gives you three free months and credits me, for an order or a demo drive, and it costs you nothing either way.

The demo drive route

Not buying anything today? The same link books a demo drive. You go drive FSD yourself, on your roads, with nobody selling you anything, and Tesla credits the referrer for that too. If you are on the fence, this is the honest first step, and it is the one I would take if I were starting over.

How to apply it

  1. Go to bit.ly/fsd247-site before you place your order. It takes you to Tesla's own referral page for my code, roger804133.
  2. Start the order, or the demo drive, from that page. The referral attaches to it.
  3. That is it. Costs you nothing extra, and it is easy to miss if you do not do it up front.

If you have already started an order without a referral, Tesla's support page for the program is the place to check what can still be applied. The rules on that have changed before, and I would rather you read Tesla's current version than my paraphrase.

What I will never do

  • No paid ads pointing at this link. Tesla's terms rule that out, and I would not do it anyway.
  • No hype. The parking page on this site is titled "what it still cannot do." The bad days are in the log. If the honest version of FSD is not for you, I would rather you find that out here than three months in.
  • No pressure. Subscribe for a month, drive your own roads, and see what you think. That is my whole recommendation, referral or not.

Then what

After the free months, FSD is a monthly subscription. As of the end of June 2026 that is the only way Tesla sells it; the one-time purchase ended June 30, 2026. The price moves around and varies by region, so check Tesla's site. Month to month, cancel whenever, restart whenever. I could see somebody running it just for road-trip season and shutting it off for the winter.

If you want to know what you are getting into first, the verdict page is my honest answer after 21,466 miles, and the owner's log is the day-by-day version.
