The stabs are back, and I think it’s a lane problem

From the Driver’s Seat · Aug 11, 2026 · v14.3.6

I’m on 14.3.6 now. There’s talk going around that the stabby braking is back, and I’ve been watching mine to see whether I agree. What I can tell you is that for me it isn’t random. Almost every time it happens, the car is confused about a lane. An intersection where it can’t decide which lane it belongs in, or a turn where the lane it wants and the lane that’s painted don’t agree. Left turns more than right, which I did not expect.

That’s a change from what I wrote before. I said everybody talks about brake stabs and I don’t get them. I still don’t get them the way people describe them, out of nowhere on an open road with nothing happening. I get them when the car is in the middle of deciding something.

Parking is better. Not fixed. Better. It pulls up in front of my garage now, fairly consistently, and that was a problem on the builds before this one. What it will not do is pull in.

I would take that trade in a heartbeat. If Tesla told me the fix was to lay a strip of marking tape on the garage floor to give it something to aim at, I would go find the tape. What I want out of parking is more options, and that is the one I would spend them on.
