The split line that makes my car jiggle

From the Driver’s Seat · Sep 9, 2026 · v14.3.9
Top-down diagram of an intersection approach: a left turn lane, two straight lanes, and a double right turn lane with a split line down its middle, a red Model Y in the right turn lane and a ring marking where it wobbles.
The intersection, drawn from my seat. The ring is where the car jiggles, right where the split line starts.

There’s a particular intersection I come up to that gets the car every time. Coming into it there’s a turn lane on the left, two lanes going straight, and a double turn lane on the right. That double turn lane has a split line down the middle of it, where the one lane becomes two.

When the car heads down the right turn lane and reaches that split line, it does a jiggle and a hesitation. It can’t decide what to do. I think the car is confused. It sees that line show up under it and thinks it’s suddenly in the wrong lane, driving down the middle of the road.

This has been an ongoing problem for quite a while now. I don’t know what the solution is. I drew the intersection so you can see the layout. The circle is where it happens.
